چکیده

A seventy-five-day feeding study was performed to investigate the usage of black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) larvae meal as an alternative protein source in carp diets (Cyprinus carpio). In this study, experimental fish were fed with four different (fish meal-based without Black (BSFL) (BSFL0), 50% (BSFL50), 65% (BSFL65), and 75% (BSFL75) substitution BSFL), triplicate. The carps (1.045±0.083 g) randomly stocked into twelve flow-through tanks a density 50 per tank reared for 75 days. Diet feed provided proportion their biomass (5% mass day) two meals day. Carps BSFL65 showed positive effects on weight gain (WG), specific growth rate (SGR), efficiency ratio (PER), apparent net utilization (ANPU), conversion (FCR). There significant differences moisture, crude protein, lipid, ash content whole body among dietary groups (P<0.05). carp-fed BSFL75 diet group (20.22%) significantly highest all three groups. Consequently, BSFL can be considered animal diet.

Influence of resources on Hermetia illucens (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) larval development.

Arthropod development can be used to determine the time of colonization of human remains to infer a minimum postmortem interval. The black soldier fly, Hermetia illucens L. (Diptera. Stratiomyidae) is native to North America and is unique in that its larvae can consume a wide range of decomposing organic material, including carrion. Larvae development was observed on six resources: control poul...

Common Carp, Cyprinus carpio

The common carp (Cyprinus carpio) belongs to the family Cyprinidae. In nature, carp live in the middle or lower reaches of a river with slow currents, or in marshes. Their habitats are usually weedy areas with a muddy bottom. Carp fry feed on zooplankton such as rotifers and copepods, but as they grow up they become benthic feeders, feeding on animals and other organic material. The cyprinids h...

Intra-Puparial Development of the Black Soldier-fly, Hermetia illucens

The intra-puparial development of the black soldier-fly, Hermetia illucens (L.) (Diptera: Stratiomyidae), was studied based on 125 pupae under controlled conditions in laboratory. The 6(th) instar larvae were reared until they stopped feeding, and the prepupae were separated according to the reduction in larval length and degree of pigmentation and sclerotization of the cuticle. The pupal stage...

Nitrogen-to-Protein Conversion Factors for Three Edible Insects: Tenebrio molitor, Alphitobius diaperinus, and Hermetia illucens

Insects are considered a nutritionally valuable source of alternative proteins, and their efficient protein extraction is a prerequisite for large-scale use. The protein content is usually calculated from total nitrogen using the nitrogen-to-protein conversion factor (Kp) of 6.25. This factor overestimates the protein content, due to the presence of nonprotein nitrogen in insects. In this paper...
